Do you know what the secret to happiness is?
Oh? Well, me neither! But I’m working on it and I think I’ve got a good lead — tiny adventures and really rockin’ food.
Sounds legit, right?
But hi, I’m Claire! I’m a late twenty-something who lives smack dab in the middle of Tennessee. I like drinking unsweetened tea, curling up under cozy blankets, and pretending to be organized. I am the most unnatural homemaker you will ever meet, but I put up a good fight. During the day, I teach teenagers how to read — which looks a lot like wrangling cats, if I’m honest — and by night, I’m experimenting in the kitchen and making fun pescatarian eats, all while trying to convince my seven-year-old that it’s totally cool to take more than three bites of whatever she’s currently eating.
I’m enamored with the idea of adventuring, but also with the idea that many little things can add up and lend life a richness that it was previously lacking. As someone with a lifelong struggle with anxiety, it’s important to me to be mindful of what I do have and what I can make. I may not be up for the save-the-princess adventures, but that doesn’t mean I’m out of the game and it doesn’t mean you have to be either.
So if you’re anything like me — loves food, will adventure, obsessively plans grocery lists and sometimes gets the shakes waiting in lines — you’ll find yourself in good company here!
